Berwick change?

According to the BBC, the town of Berwick is considering becoming part of Scotland, once and for all. A Scottish Nat. MSP is calling for the change, along with the leader of the Berwick borough council...

Any thoughts on this?

I`m all for restoring ancient boundaries so long as we can have Edinburgh back as it was part of the ancient kingdom of Northumbria.

I don't think Westminster would even notice. I'd be all for Northern England joining lowland Scotland. After all, we're all Angles, down south its Saxons and Jutes!

When was Edinburgh part of Northumbria?

...Berwick-upon-Tweed is so recently part of England, that it was still at war with the Crimea well into the late 20th Century!

Besides, Edinburgh wasn't the capital then. Can we give you Glasgow instead? ;-p

Glasgow?
We're vaguely insulted by that offer!

:-P

Nope, we want Edinburgh; it has nice cafes...
